520 _aAlbania, R., De Leon, H.JR., & Camansi, M.L. (November 2018). Microbiological Analysis of Spigot in Drinking Water Fountains. Digos City: University of Mindanao. This study is conducted to identify the count, gram stain, and cell morphology of microorganism existing in four drinking water fountains in UM Digos College namely; Gymnasium Drinking Water Fountain, Microbiology Drinking Water Fountain, Psychology Drinking Water Fountain, and Canteen Drinking Water Fountain. The sampling method used was collective sampling because sample were accumulated within August 20, 2018, August 22, 2018, and August 24, 2018 with a total of three samples to ensure its similarity or difference. The study aims at figurative out the grams stain reaction and cell morphology of microorganism using the process of grams staining technique. The target cell morphology was the following; Bacillus, Bacilli in Pair, Bacilli in Chain, Bacilli in Cluster, Coccus in Pair, Cocci in Chain, and Cocci in Cluster which will determine the current condition of the drinking water fountains if it safe for student utilization. Under the umbrella of quantitative experimental research design, the conduct of this study was eyed at extracting data using microbiologist and medical technologist to acquire valid, reliable, and accurate analysis. The findings in terms of physical appearance of drinking water fountains is unclear and unclear. In terms of gram stain reaction, all of the indicators were present. In terms of cell morphology, all of the indicators were present which eventually implies that the drinking water fountains in UM Digos College is unsafe and not potable for the students and employees’ consumption.
