Despite the prevalence of OJT programs in the tourism industry, there is a need to investigate any potential gaps or shortcomings in the OJT programs that may hinder the full realization of their contribution to the development of competent and well-prepared tourism professionals. By addressing these issues, this study aimed to assess the contribution level of an OJT program to 38 tourism graduates from SY 2018-2022. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, utilizing numeric data to measure various program effectiveness indicators. The study results indicated that the OJT program had a high level of contribution to the tourism graduates. The indicators assessed in the study, such as interpersonal competencies, technical skills, and overall competency, received positive participant ratings. These ratings suggest that the OJT program successfully provided the graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the tourism industry. However, despite the high ratings, the study also identified areas for improvement in the OJT program. The researchers proposed enhancing programs to understand further and address any identified gaps. |
