Hermosisima, S.M., Segura, E., & Añasco, J. (October 2018). Si Kuan Nagkuan Sa Kuan: A Corpus-Based Discourse Analysis on Davaoeñong Bisaya Language. Digos City: University of Mindanao.
The study explores how Davaoeñong Bisaya discourse markers are sued or functioned as a spoken discourse. The analysis is carried out through the theoretical lens, functions of language, specifically, suing the model devised by Castro (2009) “pragmatic functions of discourse markers” to identify the various functions of the discourse markers in the Davaoeñong Bisaya dialect. The results in the study revealed that the Davaoeñong Bisaya discourse markers function as the following: opening frame markers, closing frame markers, fillers, repair markers, and interpersonal function. Moreover, the findings of this study showed new functions of discourse markers: to further cut-off explanation in discourse, to give emphasis, and to give tone, emotion, or intimacy.
